Active Points provide an easy way to compare your efforts across different types of activities.
Whether you're competing with friends or monitoring your progress, these points offer valuable insights into your overall fitness journey.
Active Points are a measure of physical activity, tracking the intensity and duration of your workouts. They serve as a scorecard for your exercises, giving you insights into how each activity, including daily walks, contributes to your overall fitness journey.
To stay within your streak, you’ll have to gather 100 active points on a daily basis. This may sound hard at the beginning, however, a score of 100 points can be achieved by walking 10K steps daily.
Other than that, active points are being calculated by the amount of active calories that a default user of 75kg would use up during an activity. This number is multiplied by 0.26.
Why 0.26?
Well, to make the number of Active Points below the number of active calories.
The formula for the calculation of Active Points (provided by Jan):
Active points = [ [MET(metabolic equivalent of task) Duration 3.5 75 (default user weight)] / 200 ] 0.26
If you’re wondering what the 3.5 stands for (as I was), it’s a fixed unit. The oxygen consumption at resting is 3.5 ml per kg per minute.
The number 200 in the formula simplifies the calculation and directly converts the oxygen consumption into calories burned per minute based on the constants and conversion factors used.
Important to remember: Two people with different genders and different weight will have the same Active Points for the same duration and activity difficulty.
